I wanted to have an implant rather than the bridge my dentist suggested. The problem was a bone defect that required an oral surgeon and I could not afford the quoted fee. I chose Cancun due to it being so close to South Florida where I live and the price quoted for having this procedure done there. I am so very glad I went there.The facility is state of the art, the staff is very professional and pleasant. I have to return in May or June for the abutment and crowns. The amount I shall save on the abutment alone will pay for the flight. My wife shall be returning with me. She, too, needs dental work. The more dental work a person requires the greater will be their percentage of savings. Get your best quote from your local dentist and give them a call. I believe you shall be in for a surprise. There is no reason for a person to lose their teeth if they can afford a small percentage of what the fee would be at home. When you get there say hello for me to Maggi and Drs. Irma and Omar

I want to thank Ocean Dental for the great services I had received last week.After seeing several dentists in Calgary Ab. I found out I needed 26 extractions and dentures .Then the real shock, $10,000.00 + dollars. I had a friend say go to Cancun Mexico. I started looking into this and after many hours of research I had decided on Ocean Dental. But still being nervous I had to decided to have my dentures done at home which in retrospect was a bad idea (not in a bad way my Denturist is fantastic and did a great job, as I wanted to make sure I had after care at home) To make a long story short after a few days enjoying Cancun my appointment day was coming up and I was scared/nervous if I had made the right decision. After their driver picked me up from my hotel and brought me to their office I encountered a waiting room of Canadians and Americans who either were starting their procedures or just ending them. After talking to many of them all my stress went out of the window from what they told me. I remember talking to a women who lived 45 minutes from home that had implants done and was just getting her new teeth put in and let me tell you they were fantastic. My turn in. All the equipment was modern clean just like my local dentist even better I thought , very professional staff completed my procedure I felt great they explained to me what I needed to do as if I were at home drove me back to my hotel. I tend to be long winded but I am already booking my next trip for implants and probably saving $25,000 + dollars and knowing that the work I will receive be top quality. Again thank you very much for all your work and look forward to see you in the next few months. Great job!!!

I have had the opportunity to receive dental treatments at various clinics, 1 in Costa Rica, 4 clinics in Mexico. Ocean Dental is, without question, now "my clinic". I have come to the realization that some jobs can be done quickly, others cheaply.... at varying costs. At Ocean Dental we got first class treatment at a cost that was not dear, given the professional attention that was given. Without going into too much detail.... this is the most professional clinic that I have ever visited. And, the dentists know what they are doing, in every sense.



 

Dental Emergencies in Mexico Review - Ocean Dental Cancun

This was my third visit to Ocean Dental. This time it was an EMERGENCY, as I had an abscessed molar and was in pretty much constant pain. The dentist in Calgary said it would be a complicated procedure because it was an old root canal with a post in it. The root canal alone was quoted at $3,000, NOT including the crown. I called Ocean Dental on Wednesday, and they made an appointment that same Saturday! So I made my short-notice travel arrangements and headed down. It turned out that ANOTHER molar was also in need of a root canal and crown (something my dentist in Calgary didn't notice). I got both root canals and crowns done for $2,000USD and was back in a week. I stayed in Hostel Moloch near the main bus station in Cancun, and easily took the bus to my visits, though they offered to pick me up. I enjoyed a nice, low-key visit to the charming city of Cancun, with trips to Isla Mujeres, and the fabulous beach Playa Delfines, all for about HALF of what my dental work would have cost in Canada, including airfare and accommodations. I'm looking forward to my next toothache! Lol.

This was my 5th visit to Ocean Dental Cancun. Four years ago, when I heard about Dr. Irma from my friends, I knew right away that is the Doctor I badly needed. My teats never been the best, so in my life I visited a lot of different Dentists in Europe and North America. None of those Doctors as good and carrying like Dr. Irma. This Clinic, all Staff and Doctors are very amazing. Ocean Dental Clinic, right now CDS /CANCUN DENTAl SPECIALIST is the best equipped,elegant, clean clinic. Best of the best. In my opinion Dr. Irma is like "extinct" in this world. This Doctor has golden hands, magic touch and knowledge beyond imagination. In my case Dr. Irma did what was almost impossible -bone transplant and bone grafting, few roots canal, two bridges, seven implants, many crowns and much, much more. The final effect was stunning. I'm far away to be pathetic and I know this sound like "to beautiful to be thru". You need to experience to your own self to know what is like. I forgot to mention cost of all this dental work in my mouth. I paid 1/3 of what I would pay in Canada. If you ever decide to visit OCEAN DENTAL please be patient with Dr. Irma, other Doctors, assistants, all Staff. Those people work long hours, dealing with many different patients with different attitude and most of the patients have a difficult case. Dr. Irma staff are very high educated, knowledgeable and hard working doctors to make all patients as happy and satisfied as possible. Of course in this clinic some times are delays, but it is because about profesionalism and quality, not a Production, like in our clinic at home. Please remember that when you choose Dr. Irma Clinic. TRUST, PATIENT AND LOVE.

Where can I begin to tell everyone how fantastic Ocean Dental Cancun are? I am a person who went every six months to my local dentist for checkups and xrays. When my guy retired, and a new dentist took over, he told me I needed six implants, and the cost here was $6,000 apiece just for the implants (not including the crowns, bridges, etc.). I didn't know how I was going to pay for all this and I never wanted dentures! Fortunately, my husband knew a man (Bob Shappell) who had experienced ODC and told him about it. While I was in Cozumel in February of 2016, I went over for a consultation to ODC. ODC sent a driver that picked me up in Playa del Carmen, took me to the clinic, and then took me all the way back to the ferry. I was SO impressed!!! Just about everyone in the waiting room is from the U.S. or Canada. They all come down there for their dental work. The head dentist is a teaching dentist who was trained in America. She's wonderful too (Dr. Irma). Like me, the people waiting in the waiting room told me they started with a major problem, and now several of them will not go to any other dentist anywhere and come for their checkups each year. Everything in the office is ultra modern, with mood lighting, big screen TVS on the ceiling so I can watch Cirque d'Soleil or magicians or dancers or beautiful scenery while being worked on. The dental hygentist was even giving my jaws a massage while waiting for the new crowns. In Illinois, I had to pay almost $900 just for a consultation and this 3-D x-ray that was not covered by insurance. I brought my films down, but ODC wanted to do their own on their own 3-D machine and it was FREE! Wow! They make everything there so you don't have to wait weeks to get your teeth with the right color and fitting. Drivers pick you up and drop you off for every appointment. A tip I would recommend...stay at the NYX Hotel across the street. This way, you can avoid the waiting time in the waiting room. I would call before my appointments and see what time I should come, and this made it lots nicer. And the NYX was only $80/night for a junior suite. It was a nice hotel with everything you could want. I had my surgery in April when the extractions and implants were done, I had two root canals, and a bunch of other work done. NO PAIN! NEVER! I never even had to take a pain pill after everything they did on both trips to get this finished up. I have more pain from a filling in Illinois than I did with everything they accomplished for me. They offer a 10% cash discount...it will save you even more money. What really astounded me was after my surgery when I had prepaid for everything, they told me that instead of six implants, I only needed three and they owed me a refund! Where, in the USA, would they ever offer a refund after you had paid for anything? I was thrilled that they were so honest and wonderful. I went by myself for both trips...one in April and one in October, and I was never afraid there. It was so convenient, and staying at the NYX, not only did I have a short walk across the street to the clinic, but it's also close to shopping malls and restaurants. When I got my gorgeous smile back in October, the first thing I did was go to the Outback Steak House and order the biggest steak I could eat! It was great not to have to eat peanut butter or pasta anymore. My teeth are beautiful...everyone compliments me on them, and I have had no problems since. All those years with mystery pain, that nobody here could figure out. ODC to the rescue! I can't say enough about this wonderful place and I highly completely recommend it to anyone. I saved tens of thousands of dollars and am so happy. In fact, on the last day when I was getting my crowns and bridges done, ODC stayed open four extra hours just for me, so I wouldn't have to come back (this was on a Saturday). I couldn't believe it. I still can't believe it. Thrilled beyond words. The entire staff is wonderful. Andy, Benny, Maggi, Janet, I can't even list them all. They are all fantastic. And yes, I got hugs too when I came back. It's just the best dental service anywhere. I couldn't be more pleased. Lindsay and Lucrecia from Ocean Dental really smoothed the way for a pleasant experience. They even paid for my airport shuttle to the hotel! Truly the best there is! Hooray!

I just completed a process that replaced four lost upper molars (all requiring sinus lifts) and one lost lower molar with implants and crowns. As the team was finishing this process, they noticed a loose canine tooth that my Colorado dentist had told me I was going to eventually lose. Team members promptly advised me that they could save that tooth with minor surgery and a properly designed crown. I agreed to that recommended additional procedure and, two days later, was fitted with the additional (loose) tooth saving crown. I have been very pleased with my total set of experiences with CDS and the resulting "new" teeth. The staff are well trained, use current technology and approaches not observed with my Colorado dentists, are customer-oriented, and provide their services for approximately 1/3 of the costs quoted by my Colorado dentists. In addition, my dental insurer (Delta Dental)has covered these treatments and paid their share of the costs. I highly recommend considering CDS for your future dental work.

This year was my 4th visit to Ocean Dental in 3 years . If you have questions ask me . On my 3rd &4th visit I brought my son with me . He has seen Dr Irma and Dr Caro . After his 1st visit he said can I come back next year because the work Dr Irma did doesn't bother him like the work he had done at home . It was painless and he didn't have a rubber jaw when she was finished with him. This year he came back and he had Dr. Caro. I asked him which doctor was better? He said dad that would be an unfair question. They have both done wonderful work on my teeth. I know that since Dr. Caro was close to his age that he got along with her very very well. He is pleased with all of his work from Ocean Dental. he has had his teeth whitened, 2-root canals ,two crowns ,4-filings and of course his teeth cleaned every year in Cancun. When I first showed up three years ago I was probably like a lot of you that may be reading this? I had never been to Mexico, I had brought cash with me, I was staying at a good hotel, and just as promised ocean devil pick me up at the airport with a sign in their hands. I felt like a VIP traveler at the airport. Since it was Saturday I was taken to my hotel I relaxed in the water until Monday when Dr. Irma went to work on me. When I showed up I had had problems at a dentist in Cincinnati. They actually wanted to pull all of my teeth and have me get dentures. Dr Irma couldn't figure out why I would want dentures? She said you have good teeth they just are not very pretty. I can fix that she said. She wrote up a plan with an estimate and handed it to me I put my initials on it and she went to work. I was going to need to implant screws and crowns along with two bridges in the front. A laser whitening a few feelings I have a big problem that was growing in my jaw . The next day she had an oral surgeon removed the cyst that had grown in my jaw . Truthfully that was the most discomfort I had an all four visits to Cancun. He did a very good job and removed it and believe me it really was not as painful as what they put me through when they removed the tooth in Cincinnati. I think I was in the chair for six days straight. I never went with the gap in my teeth or anything ugly that someone could see while I was staying in Cancun . Dr. Irma made be temporary bridges until I got mine at the end of the week. Fact is everyone at the hotel thought the temporaries look just fine. On the last day I have all of my bridges and one implant and crown finished. I had to heal up and two months later I came back for the implant screw to go into the hole where the cyst had removed. I returned in the implant screw was put in place in November. Four months later I returned and had my implant crown placed on the abutment. That is when I brought my son with me for the first time. Then this year in February we returned again. I needed a huge filling that was done eight years ago in Cincinnati replaced with a root canal and a crown. This year we made our trip for 10 days. On Saturday morning as planned we both hit the dentist office first thing in the morning. Simultaneously we both got our crowns and left Ocean Dental with smiles like we have never had before. My son turned me on Saturday night and said dad in all of my 34 years we have never had a better time than this trip together to Cancun this year. Can we please return again next year dad? Going to the dentist has never been a time like this before. So if you have any questions at all please feel free to ask me. I will even call you and talk to you on the phone if you would like. I'm not paid to say this Dr. Irma saved my smile for me to enjoy the rest of my life. Fact is I really never had one until three years ago. My teeth were horrible as far as I was concerned. I arrived in Cancun with two dentists to interview after contacting a dental tourism site. I chose Dr Gavaldon because she was so respectful and confident and her son so helpful and honest.My fears of unexpected costs adding up were removed when i was given a quote and told it would be honored no matter what. And the work did require a lot more than anticipated and the price stayed the same; in fact no money was even asked until just before leaving! The unconditional service went on and on, from being picked up and delivered to our downtown home or shopping, to paying for our xrays until we got the cash exchanged, to finding us a nicer place to stay and fitting my cousin in to have mini implants and both of us ready to leave together. First part of the work was done in January 2016 and it was completed the second trip in May 2016.

This was the best dental experience of my life. It's worth noting that Cancun is very safe even outside the Hotel Zone. We stayed at a nice gated apartment/condo with 2 bedrooms/3 beds, 2 bathrooms, washer/dryer, full kitchen, living room, dining room, 2 flatscreen TVs, a balcony and a pool. Walking distance to grocery stores and mall. It was around $100-$115/per night.

To begin with, the staff was wonderful answering my call at 6:30 in the evening and setting up an appointment the very next morning. Irma went out of her way to accommodate my procedure, which was a bond replacement, by opening the office earlier than normal business hours. She was able to quickly identify my issue and get right to work. She was extremely professional, friendly and most of all, fixed my tooth and smile. She was very patient in making sure the tooth was perfect, down to every detail including the match, length, feel and bite of my newly replaced bond. I would recommend anyone who is simply in Cancun for a vacation and needs emergency dental work, do not hesitate to make that appointment.
