Janea Courtright came to Ocean Dental in the month of January to get a full set of new crowns. This was not an easy feat but the skill and dedication of Dr. Gavaldon and her staff not only made this possible, but they over did themselves in the great work they provided to Janea. 

Janea's teeth were eroded and weak due to cancer. We had the pleasure of having Janea with us for 11 days in which Dr. Gavaldon worked sometimes late into the night in order to make the time schedule before Janea's departure. 

The outcome was not only a great patient-doctor relationship, but a whole new confidence for Janea thanks to the new look of her smile.

A HUGE thanks to Andy, Dr. Irma and David for their excellent patient care and customer service. They all took wonderful care of me from my arrival to my early morning departure, and all appointments in between. Dr. Irma Gavaldon is very professional and does excellent dental work. Andy and David were so friendly, fun and efficient. Best dental experiences I've ever had, all the way around. I hesitated as Cancun is much more difficult for me to get to travel wise from Alaska then several other Mexican dental options, but am glad I went with Ocean Dental Cancun and the wonderful staff there. It was well worth the extra travel challenges. Thanks again Dr. Gavaldon, Andy and David!!!! Will be heading back down there soon for the final phase of my implants and dental plan for a much better smile!!

Laura came in for implants and finished the first phase of the implant process. She will be returning later on in the year once the osseo integration process is completed. She will come back with us to finish the restorative phase and leave with a brand new smile!

Dr. Gavaldon and Dr. Galvez worked together to save my tooth. Instead of haven an implant, Dr. Galvez took 3 hrs. to do the root canal -successfully- and I got my crown in 2 days. Great job! To begin with, the staff was wonderful answering my call at 6:30 in the evening and setting up an appointment the very next morning. Irma went out of her way to accommodate my procedure, which was a bond replacement, by opening the office earlier than normal business hours. She was able to quickly identify my issue and get right to work. She was extremely professional, friendly and most of all, fixed my tooth and smile. She was very patient in making sure the tooth was perfect, down to every detail including the match, length, feel and bite of my newly replaced bond. I would recommend anyone who is simply in Cancun for a vacation and needs emergency dental work, do not hesitate to make that appointment. The Karshenas Walked into Ocean Dental Cancun on Christmas Eve. Ben with some minor tooth pain and in need of two crowns, his brother for a consultation and teeth whitening, and in the end even the father got his teeth whitened!

Thanks to the Cerec Cad/Cam machine that is used in office, Dr. Irma Gavaldon and her staff were able to finish two E-Max all porcelain crowns for Ben the very same day. The end result was a very happy family and a wonderful dental experience.

How to pick A Dentist in Mexico

If you are thinking about traveling down to Mexico to get your dental work done then there are a few things you should consider before actually taking your trip. There are a lot of skilled and qualified dentists all over Mexico. From the border states right on down to the Caribbean coasts.
When people have decided to travel for they're dental work, location is a very important factor.
There are more and more people from the U.S. and Canada who have been choosing the Mexican Caribbean as their destination over cities closer to their respsective borders. Such as Nogales, Tijuana, and Monterrey, to name a few places.
There are many reasons that people are choosing places such as Cancun and the Riviera Maya as their dental destinations. For one, its a place where people can get away and have a great vacation in the sunshine. Its Safe, Clean, and modern. And as far as Dental work goes, you can find a highly qualified dentist to provide your dental needs at a fraction of the cost of what you would pay in the U.S and Canada.
Choosing your dentist is the MOST important factor in getting your dental needs taken care of.
A few things to look into before choosing your dentist are,
1. Look at their credentials. You can go to different web sites such as Healthgrades.com, Vitals.com, Realself.com  and search the records of your prospective dentists. If there was any history of malpractice or board sanctions you'll be able to find it and better make your decision.
2. Look at how long your dentist has been practicing dentistry, you can also find this out by doing a google search of your dentist.
3. Contact your dentist and ask to speak with him/ her. You can then ask them specific questions and concerns regarding your dental needs. a lot of times a good talk can answer  a lot of questions and doubts you may have.
4.  Look at the reviews about the dentist, search for patient testimony and video. This can tell you how satisfied the former patients were with their treatment, and help you decide if that is the right place for you.
5.  Look into the clinic itself. Their reviews, their ratings as providers on sites such as Dentaldepartures.com, Whatclinc.com. Try to search the respected sources for more accurate information. There are many clinics in the cancun area.You have anything from your big scale dental clinics who have huge staffs, to your "at home local" clinics with a small but caring staff.
People need to feel comfortable in their decisions, and with their dentist. For a lot of people this decision comes with a gut feeling, and of course after researching all the options.
When coming to Mexico for your dental work find your ideal location and go from there. There are many qualified dentists to choose from. Find the right one for you and have a beautiful vacation as well as get the smile that you deserve.

I found my dentist in Mexico...

I used to have a lot anxiety about dental work. And especially if going to a foregein counry to get it done. 

Once i decided that i defenately needed the work done i went ahead and chose Ocean Dental. Of course i Researched my decision. You don't run off and pick a dentist in mexico without looking into them first.

 I called ahead and told them that I was still a little sceptical about the whole idea, and to my suprise they told me” I understand. This is a big decision and its something only you can decide” 

So here was no money hungry dental clinic out for any ol patient. They gave me the information on what Dr. Will be handling my work and a list of  former patients in case I wanted to contact them for real live testimony.

I had very profesional talks with the staff and even the dr. Herself before booking my appointment and travel arraingements. 

Which wasent a hassle since i am a flight attendent for delta airlines.( We geta round quite a bit!)

Once i got to Cancun i was picked up by a nice Young man with whom i had spoken with a few times before. We then went to the clinic to meet the dr. In person and start on my dental plan.

The dr. Was a very sweet lady who was understanding to my Dental Anxiety. She told me there was no problem, and that they would work with me so I could feel more comfortable and in control of the situation.This was my first dentist appointment since i was about 23 years old! I had some loose teeth and whole lot of problems going on in there.

After my evaluation is was Stunned! I wasn't going to have to loose any teeth!

They scheduled me for 4 sessions of deep cleaning my roots and
put me ona a quarterly plan.

I’m now back and forth to cancun on a fairly regular basis with a dentist i trust
The clinic has a family vibe to it and thier attention to detail is amazing.
Thanks to Dr. Gavaldon i am able to still have all my original teeth, with out any cavities what so ever.

I would recommend the Ocean Dental Clinic and Dr. Irma Gavaldon to any body in need of dental work, and saving some cash.
