Like many first timers to the idea of travelling to Mexico for dental work I was nervous, skeptical, and worried that I was making a huge mistake. It is now two weeks since my first appointment, I’m back home in the states and all I can say is “THANK GOD I DID IT!” This was the single most positive dental experience I have ever had! I needed a bridge replaced (the original one put in by an American dentist fell apart after 7 years) and in the end I needed a root canal on one of the teeth. The cost here in the states was quoted to me at around $6100. My final bill, which I paid happily, was $1575. Now, I was in a pickle as I had a broken bridge so getting it fixed was a must do. The difference between what I would have paid, sitting on the couch in my apartment pissed off at the outrageous cost of US dental work and what I actually paid in Cancun covered not only the flight from Seattle but 7 days at a luxury all-inclusive resort for my whole family. We had a great time and I will never forget the super nice people I met at CDS. Thank you! I will be back!

The idea of going to Mexico for dental restoration came about as a way of saving money. What you get at Ocean Dental Cancun may actually be better services than what we can get at home. First, they give more time to your work each day. Second, their lab is integrated into the practice, so I had an inlay, 4 implants and 2 crowns over teeth, one with a root canal, all completed over 4 days. Dr. Irma is leading a committed team of treatment and office professionals who work long days to give patients great service and results. After contacting 4 dental offices at home, and 15 in Mexico, it was only Ocean Dental Cancun Services that had the consideration and superior patient services department to special order implant parts, even though they had not put the implants in. No other office in either country would do this for me. And, I saved 65% on the dental costs. The team collaboration among the staff was something I have never seen, even during a career in health care in the USA. The need for a root canal was revealed mid-morning on a day of crown preparations. I had to wait only an hour to see the Endodontist, and then I got back with my restoration specialist, Dr. Cindell, who finished the 7 crown prep and impressions, all done in one day. The ride coordination was flawless with the transportation company. But, when my wife and I needed a ride to the airport on Sunday at 3 AM, the practice manager came from a wedding reception in his own car. Could you imagine service like that from your local dentist office?

Where can I begin to tell everyone how fantastic Ocean Dental Cancun are? I am a person who went every six months to my local dentist for checkups and xrays. When my guy retired, and a new dentist took over, he told me I needed six implants, and the cost here was $6,000 apiece just for the implants (not including the crowns, bridges, etc.). I didn't know how I was going to pay for all this and I never wanted dentures! Fortunately, my husband knew a man (Bob Shappell) who had experienced ODC and told him about it. While I was in Cozumel in February of 2016, I went over for a consultation to ODC. ODC sent a driver that picked me up in Playa del Carmen, took me to the clinic, and then took me all the way back to the ferry. I was SO impressed!!! Just about everyone in the waiting room is from the U.S. or Canada. They all come down there for their dental work. The head dentist is a teaching dentist who was trained in America. She's wonderful too (Dr. Irma). Like me, the people waiting in the waiting room told me they started with a major problem, and now several of them will not go to any other dentist anywhere and come for their checkups each year. Everything in the office is ultra modern, with mood lighting, big screen TVS on the ceiling so I can watch Cirque d'Soleil or magicians or dancers or beautiful scenery while being worked on. The dental hygentist was even giving my jaws a massage while waiting for the new crowns. In Illinois, I had to pay almost $900 just for a consultation and this 3-D x-ray that was not covered by insurance. I brought my films down, but ODC wanted to do their own on their own 3-D machine and it was FREE! Wow! They make everything there so you don't have to wait weeks to get your teeth with the right color and fitting. Drivers pick you up and drop you off for every appointment. A tip I would recommend...stay at the NYX Hotel across the street. This way, you can avoid the waiting time in the waiting room. I would call before my appointments and see what time I should come, and this made it lots nicer. And the NYX was only $80/night for a junior suite. It was a nice hotel with everything you could want. I had my surgery in April when the extractions and implants were done, I had two root canals, and a bunch of other work done. NO PAIN! NEVER! I never even had to take a pain pill after everything they did on both trips to get this finished up. I have more pain from a filling in Illinois than I did with everything they accomplished for me. They offer a 10% cash discount...it will save you even more money. What really astounded me was after my surgery when I had prepaid for everything, they told me that instead of six implants, I only needed three and they owed me a refund! Where, in the USA, would they ever offer a refund after you had paid for anything? I was thrilled that they were so honest and wonderful. I went by myself for both trips...one in April and one in October, and I was never afraid there. It was so convenient, and staying at the NYX, not only did I have a short walk across the street to the clinic, but it's also close to shopping malls and restaurants. When I got my gorgeous smile back in October, the first thing I did was go to the Outback Steak House and order the biggest steak I could eat! It was great not to have to eat peanut butter or pasta anymore. My teeth are beautiful...everyone compliments me on them, and I have had no problems since. All those years with mystery pain, that nobody here could figure out. ODC to the rescue! I can't say enough about this wonderful place and I highly completely recommend it to anyone. I saved tens of thousands of dollars and am so happy. In fact, on the last day when I was getting my crowns and bridges done, ODC stayed open four extra hours just for me, so I wouldn't have to come back (this was on a Saturday). I couldn't believe it. I still can't believe it. Thrilled beyond words. The entire staff is wonderful. Andy, Benny, Maggi, Janet, I can't even list them all. They are all fantastic. And yes, I got hugs too when I came back. It's just the best dental service anywhere. I couldn't be more pleased. Lindsay and Lucrecia from Ocean Dental really smoothed the way for a pleasant experience. They even paid for my airport shuttle to the hotel! Truly the best there is! Hooray!

Janea Courtright came to Ocean Dental in the month of January to get a full set of new crowns. This was not an easy feat but the skill and dedication of Dr. Gavaldon and her staff not only made this possible, but they over did themselves in the great work they provided to Janea. 

Janea's teeth were eroded and weak due to cancer. We had the pleasure of having Janea with us for 11 days in which Dr. Gavaldon worked sometimes late into the night in order to make the time schedule before Janea's departure. 

The outcome was not only a great patient-doctor relationship, but a whole new confidence for Janea thanks to the new look of her smile.

I found my dentist in Mexico...

I used to have a lot anxiety about dental work. And especially if going to a foregein counry to get it done. 

Once i decided that i defenately needed the work done i went ahead and chose Ocean Dental. Of course i Researched my decision. You don't run off and pick a dentist in mexico without looking into them first.

 I called ahead and told them that I was still a little sceptical about the whole idea, and to my suprise they told me” I understand. This is a big decision and its something only you can decide” 

So here was no money hungry dental clinic out for any ol patient. They gave me the information on what Dr. Will be handling my work and a list of  former patients in case I wanted to contact them for real live testimony.

I had very profesional talks with the staff and even the dr. Herself before booking my appointment and travel arraingements. 

Which wasent a hassle since i am a flight attendent for delta airlines.( We geta round quite a bit!)

Once i got to Cancun i was picked up by a nice Young man with whom i had spoken with a few times before. We then went to the clinic to meet the dr. In person and start on my dental plan.

The dr. Was a very sweet lady who was understanding to my Dental Anxiety. She told me there was no problem, and that they would work with me so I could feel more comfortable and in control of the situation.This was my first dentist appointment since i was about 23 years old! I had some loose teeth and whole lot of problems going on in there.

After my evaluation is was Stunned! I wasn't going to have to loose any teeth!

They scheduled me for 4 sessions of deep cleaning my roots and
put me ona a quarterly plan.

I’m now back and forth to cancun on a fairly regular basis with a dentist i trust
The clinic has a family vibe to it and thier attention to detail is amazing.
Thanks to Dr. Gavaldon i am able to still have all my original teeth, with out any cavities what so ever.

I would recommend the Ocean Dental Clinic and Dr. Irma Gavaldon to any body in need of dental work, and saving some cash.

Not only are you getting an amazing vacation, but your teeth are in great hands!

I can't stop  thinking daily! why  I put up with  soooo many  bad  dentists in  my  life! yes! Irma she  is  it! ;))) am talking everyday to  friends  & anyone  I talk too!  and  I do  talk a  lot! you  will see  me  again  even  for  just  a  friendly  visit! (keep in  touch) I really enjoyed  meeting  all of  You  guys ! (  no  more  bad  rap about  mexico ,not  from  me! I  love  people~! :) no  matter where  you  from!

Again!  tell  Andy  that  dr.Arzarte staff never  tried to  call or  e:mail me !  that  is  the  evidence they  knew I came to  you! (all bunch  of  sly snakes!) to  be  polite !!!

My dentists in Cancun... And that is the view from the "torture" chair... The mangroves looking out to the Nichupte Lagoon... doesen't get much better then that especially when she administers the injections with no pain and the hit to the pocket book was not even 20% of what the cost would have been at my former dentist here in Folsom!
